                    Welcome to Blackdust Sculptures

Sharon J. Case

I create One Of A Kind Dog Sculptures of purebred dogs and mixed breeds. I never use molds or patterns in my work so each dog sculpture is guaranteed to be a one of a kind (OOAK) creation. All my clay sculptures are created from high quality polymer clay, glass eyes & each one is hand painted. All my Needle Felted sculptures are hand felted using solid wire armatures & high quality Wools or Alpaca fibers.

Each sculpture comes with certificates of authenticity.

Creatvity, lots of love, and many hours go into each of my sculptures, I pay very close attention to detail.
I create personalized custom sculptures from pictures of your beloved dog. Custom sculptures make great gifts for yourself, family, friends, co-workers or that special person who has everything.

As you travel through my Gallery site, I've selected a few photos from hundreds of my prior and current work.
I hope my gallery site brings many smiles and shares the love we have for our beloved pets, past or present.
Please contact me for questions or requests, visit the FAQ tab for more info.

My sculptures are an adult collector's item and not intended as a toy for children.

Clay Sculpting begins with a lump of clay & pushing it into the desired shape, that  evolves into a complex, recognizable form, understanding how basic shapes fit together to form a complex sculpture. I set to work shaping the clay utilizating resource materials, hand tools, my fingers & imagination,  Sculptures are fired a very low temps, baked for approx two hours depending on the thickness of the clay. The picture shows the unfinshed product, lumps of polymer clay, some of the hand tools I use and two unfinished dog sculptures.

Needle felting begins with a solid wire armature, shaped into the desired form. Batting is placed in layers, and barded needles are used to create a complex shape. Then high quality wools & Alpaca fibers, are attached with barbed needles that are notched along the shaft of the needle which grabs the fibers to create my fuzzy little sculptures. The picture shows the beginnings of solid wire armature dog sculpture formed with batting, Alpaca & Wool fibers and varied sizes of barbed needles.
